REGULAR MENTORSHIP

2024 Edition

What is the regular mentorship?

The regular mentorship is an annual event organized by the FQSA to introduce newcomers to salmon fishing.

This activity, which has been organized for over 15 years now, generally takes place over the long Labor Day weekend.

Participants are supervised by mentors who are passionate about salmon fishing, and promise to pass on their knowledge in a welcoming environment conducive to learning and meeting new people.

Who is it for?

This mentorship is for anyone wishing to learn fly fishing and salmon fishing. The activity is aimed at people who have never touched a fly rod, as well as new salmon anglers (10 days fishing or less) who don't yet feel completely independent on the river.

2024 Edition

This edition of regular mentoring will take place from August 30 to September 2, 2024 on two rivers in the magnificent Charlevoix region: the Gouffre river and the Malbaie river.

Each team (2 participants per team) will be accompanied by a mentor who will teach them the basics of salmon fishing in order to develop their autonomy on the river. Participants will have the chance to spend a day on each of the 2 rivers.

Registration

This trip is made possible thanks to funding from the Ministère de l'environnement, de la lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la faune et des parcs (MELCCFP). In connection with this funding, a random selection is mandatory in order to take part in the trip.

On May 31, 2024, the Saumon Québec team will draw the names of 20 participants, who will be able to bring a guest of their choice to the event.
